Search Engine Marketing
Search engine marketing (SEM) helps a business promote it’s website by advertising in the
Sponsored Link section of the Google or other search engine search results page. While other search engines allow paid inclusions or paid placement in search results, Google AdWords™ advertisements can only run above or to the right of search results under the heading “Sponsored Links”.
It’s important to note that search engine marketing is different that search engine optimization.
Understanding Search Engine Marketing Results
Google AdWords advertisements appear to the right and sometimes above relevant search results under the heading “Sponsored Links”.
Search results are located on the left-hand side and are commonly referred to as ‘organic listings’ or simply “search results”. Organic search results cannot be bought or influenced by purchasing AdWords.
